White Nails For Spring

White is the new black this spring and what better way to wear it than on your nails?  I've never really been convinced on the white nail look as I think it can look quite washed out (and as it's such a bold colour you have to have the perfect mani!) However, recently I have been  gravitating towards them more but I still haven't found the perfect polish so maybe you could give me a couple of recommendations...

On my nails is the Maybelline Colour Show Nail Polish in Winter Baby (£2.99) - this is quite a milky, white colour and not as opaque as I was expecting it to be. I painted three coats and you can still slightly see my nail through the polish, making it quite time consuming! But it did not leave streak marks which I definitely didn't want. The consistency isn't at all gloopy and I can easily do the 'one stroke' like Essie nail polishes. Once I had given myself the time for this mani, it ended up looking really lovely (my trick is to leave a clean gap between your cuticle and polish,) very glossy and looks long lasting too!

Even though I love the look of my white nails I am still on the hunt for the perfect white polish.

What are your thoughts on white nails?

Brandy and Joni

Top - Brandy Melville // Jeans - Topshop // Shoes - Converse
Top - Brandy Melville // Jeans - Topshop // Shoes - Converse

I've teamed my favorite Topshop jeans with two tops from one of my favorite shops - Brandy Melville, (try saying that sentence fast!) I love the Joni jeans because they are high waisted, super comfy to wear and for me the best fitting jeans I've found. I have them in a dark wash also the well known lighter wash.  The reason why I'm obsessed with Brandy Melville is because their clothing is so soft. Another reason why I like it, is because their clothing only comes in one size so it either fits or it doesn't - definitely saves you time! My latest purchase are these go with everything, all black converse. I was inspired by how cool they looked on my friend Charlotte and they had been on my lust list for quite some time.

Ready in 5

Usually  I don't have enough time to do a full face of makeup so it's more of a get it on and go sort of thing. My makeup evolves around the no makeup-makeup look which always helps when you want to lay in bed that extra 5 minutes. These are the trusty products that make me not look like a zombie but actually presentable in the morning.

I start off by evening out my skin-tone to get rid of any redness. For the days where I don't want to be faffing around with makeup brushes and making sure I have the right coverage, I tend to use a bb cream. The one which I use is the Maybelline Dream Pure bb cream, I find that it works really well to give a light base, but as it doesn't cover everything I like to go in with my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. It masks all my under eye circles and pesky spots. However it does tend to look a bit cakey so I would definitely recommend to apply as little as possible. Finally, I like to set everything with a powder (I'm currently trying out the Natural Collection powder) so nothing slides around throughout the day.

For my eyes I like to keep it simple and usually don't bother with eyeshadow. A quick curl of my lashes, a good coating of mascara (Maybelline the Falsies) and a brown eyeliner (Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl in brown) in my water-line. This makes my eyes look a bit more wide awake well close anyway! I then like to go in with a pink lip colour (Revlon Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake) or just a tinted lip balm (Baby Lips in Cherry Me) to add some colour into my face. If I have that extra time I will add even more glow using the Soap & Glory Glow all out powder and the look is done!

Pretty Spring Wishlist

1. Alexa Chung It - Waterstones or Urban Outfitters
2. Real Techniques Core Collection - Boots
3. Soap & Glory Solar Powder - Boots
4. Topshop Glow - Topshop
5. Caged Sandals - New Look
6. Pink Cup - Ikea

Now that the sun has wanted to shine, I'm currently dreaming of all the pretty pastel coloured items. As always I am late to jump on the band wagon with the Alexa Chung book. Everyone says it's such a good read and it looks so cute on your dresser! I've been lusting over quite a lot of makeup this month especially the Real Techniques Core Core collection but I've got to hold back as I've already got wayyy too much. How amazingly cool are these shoes? Black + cut outs = the perfect shoe! I do need some more shoes so maybe that will justify me buying them?
What do you think of my wishlist?

This Week's Most Loved...

Sunday has rolled around the corner too quickly this week, why can't it be Saturday everyday? Today I'm having a bit of a lazy day and might be re-designing some parts of my blog. However that is irrelevant to today's post which is of course a lovely array of this weeks most loved products.  I only have three things to show you but they are all amazing!

I'll begin with body care which I definitely have a love for! I've been using the Body Shop Mango Body Scrub (£12.50) for quite some time now, I haven't seen a difference in smoothness of skin but I love how gentle the grains are. It effortlessly melts and turns into a oil like consistency which I then can just rub into my skin.

I had never really tried this brand but I have suddenly been loving it! It's the Lipfusion Infatuation Liquid Shine Lipgloss  ($29 for full size) . That's a mouthful! I have mine in first crush which is like a dark nude which for me is my lips but better. It has amazing pigmentation but doesn't feel sticky at all! However the tube does get very messy!

Last on my list is Malava Pure Diamond Nail Polish (£4.50). It's definitely safe to say I'm always seen wearing this nail polish over any colour! Well I am a sucker for a good glitter nail polish. It has flecks of green, blue and purple which bounce of the light like a disco ball! See it in use here.

Have you tried any of these products?

Topshop Matte Nail Varnishes

Matte nail varnishes are a trend that I have always loved and when Topshop released their collection I instantly wanted to pick some up. There are fifteen nail polishes so far ranging from pastels to bright colours. The ones I have to show you are Easy Peasy, Dress Up and Drink Pink.

You apply these polishes like any other using a basecoat with two colour coats but obviously excluding the topcoat for the matte effect. Or you can add a glitter top coat to give shine and some prettiness! The nail polish claims to have extra long wear with a lasting smooth, matte finish.

I have to say the polish is semi-matte with just a little bit of shine compared to other matte nail varnishes. The texture is really nice and smooth with a kind of velvet feel to them. The application was very easy like any other Topshop nail polish with the thin to medium brush. These are the perfect polishes for any emergency's as they dry so quickly and you only need about two coats to get an opaque colour.

Even though this nail polish chips slightly I love all the colours and I need to get more! Overall I am really impressed with these as they are a high street brand and for £6 you can't really complain.

Are you a fan of Topshop nail polishes? Let me know what you think of the shades!

My Primark SS14 Picks

My Primark SS14 Picks

Even though Primarks SS14 collection came out all the way back in January, I really liked some of the pieces and thought I would do a fashion post on it. I love primark for their essentials but I never seem to find anything which I like (or they're always hid at the back!) I'm really excited about this collection as Primark seem to be getting better and better  in keeping up with the latest trends.

My favorites definitely have to be the wrap around skort and the daisy print shift dress. I love a print dress with a peter pan collar and the skort is a great dupe for more exspensive ones on the market. It reminds me of ones found in Zara and Topshop but for only a quarter of the price. I know for certain that some of the SS14 clothing line is already in shops so I will be definitely having a trip into Primark!

Which one is your favorite?
